“18 month old”

Eighteen months is a coming of age for your child. Many parents say that this is when they stop thinking of their child as a baby. One tangible sign that your child has left babyhood behind is his new sensory awareness that helps him hold in urine or bowel movements. Starting about now, keep a potty seat around so your child can gradually get used to the idea of using it. Don't force the pace, though — while some toddlers may be showing signs that they're ready to try, many others won't be ready until 24 months or even later.
