Côco e Chocolate

Your 9 month old, first week

For your nine-month-old baby, everything is fascinating: your shoes, the dog's bowl, a hairbrush. If you put a safe selection of pans, wooden spoons and sieves in a low kitchen cupboard for him, He'll enjoy pulling them all out and playing with them. Secure the other cupboards with child-resistant locks, but do remember that they are not 100-per-cent reliable. Some babies are better than safe-crackers when it comes to cupboard locks. Each time he gets his hands on something new, help him experiment with it. Does it roll? Does it make a noise? Can he bang it against something else? Encouraging your little scientist will boost his confidence and independence as well as widening his knowledge.

Your preschooler - four year old, third month

Ready to read? Comparing your child's abilities to her peers' is an irresistible impulse that persists long after those infant developmental milestone charts have been left behind. Among parents of four year olds, reading is a topic that can cause a lot of anxiety, especially when those first few children start reading. Whether you have an early bird or a child who's more on track with her age-mates, what's important now is to keep the books coming.

Eu: Então e o J. vai-se mascarar de quê?

Your 8 month old, fourth week

Blow your baby a kiss this week and she just might blow one back to you. If she does, encourage her with smiles and applause, and she'll probably offer more. Not only has she developed the physical coordination to make that lovely gesture but her emotions are also beginning to develop. She's starting to notice other people's moods and may even start to cry if she hears another baby crying.

Tu: Ele deu-me a mim e eu dei-lhe a ele.
Eu: Na boca????
Tu: Simmmmm! Ahahahah.
Eu: Tens de contar essa ao pai.
Tu: Mas lembra-me mãe.
Eu: Qual buraco??!!!
Tu: Por baixo do comboio.
Eu: Ah………
