Around now your baby is probably perfecting her thumb-and-finger pincer grasp. Learning this delicate skill is a big leap in her physical development. She'll also want to use her mouth to explore every fascinating little item she finds, from buttons to coins. From now on you'll have to be extra careful not to leave small things that she could choke on lying around. But while babyproofing is a top priority, do make sure you give her a chance to explore and practise her new skills safely.
