At this age, your baby doesn't just tolerate attention from others, she
initiates it, often becoming the life and soul of the party. Six month olds are
fairly indiscriminate, too. Anyone who approaches your baby with raised
eyebrows or a grin is greeted with delight. But she still needs and craves lots
of one-to-one attention from you. She needs you to keep her safe when she's
exploring, too. Even before your baby crawls, she can roll around and cover a
lot of ground. That's why it's important to keep floors free of sharp objects, coins,
buttons or older children's small toys.
